The first half of 2009 in the passive income world has been very much a roller-coaster ride! 

My top two category 1 programs have both had to make changes to cope with the financial situation and the difficulty of moving large amounts of funds around.  One has gone completely private and other (QLX3) has had to work around the problems.  I am looking forward to both of them being strong during the second half of 2009.

Meanwhile, many have concentrated on the surfing/traffic exchange arena which has also had a very bumpy ride,  Early casualties were Aggero and Premium Ads Club, but I see that the latter is now back in business and hopefully refunding those that lost out when their underlying investment didn't perform.  PAC will need our support to be able to provide the refunds.

Star performer in this area has been AdVentures4U which has consistently averaged 14% rebates avery week and continues to grow it's membership.  Programs like GlobalRevShare have deliberately adjusted their plans to emulate the AV4U success.  Details of all the traffic exchange programs are on my traffic exchange page and below.

Long standing traffic exchange programs like AdViewGlobal and AdGateWorld have had their ups and downs.  AVG has some great long term plans, but their huge bonuses have played havoc with the stability of the rebate system and they are having to sort this part out.  AGW has certainly been the more stable of the two, but has also had to adjust its plan to remain stable.  Tame-the-Net appeared to do well for a while but appears to have been forced to close it's revenue sharing; reasons not yet forthcoming. There is a procedure for claiming back a 110% refund if you are not yet in profit.  Looking at the list it is clear that the majority of members are not yet in profit and have obviously not followed a successful strategy!

I have steered clear of the large number of autosurf programs out there as they tend to last a very short time.  SurfReborn had a good start but withdrawals are slowing down to a stop now.

I have a number of programs listed in Category 2 and the star performer there has to be GoldNuggetInvest (GNI) which carries on producing a steady 6% a week, completely passively and should be in everyon'e portfolio!

Many of you joined  AAN and DRF Group, both potentially good Category 2 programs, with great potential to become category 1 programs later this year.  However, both have had some teething problems.  AAN has still not listed our purchases and sales in our back office, despite many promises.  I gather the programming and data entry is complicated, but why make it so complicated!!  DRF has sufferred from the monvement of large amounts of currency that has caused other programs problems but I gather that is being resolved.

Others worth consideration in Category 2 are:

Treasures has now been around for nearly a year.  It looked very promising initially, but has struggled to keep it's revenue-based returns high enough unless your funding was high or you shared the program.  They have a new initiative - the 750% club which promises to introduce members to very private investments with the aim of generating 750% a year!  One has to join Treasures for free to find out about it.  Details under Established Programs

Message Magic, a another long lasting program, with a matrix which goes out of it's way to pay the new members and those that have so far earned the least.  Active players are doing well, but those that are purely passive have had variable results, as it's a matter of luck, or good timing where you end up in the pulsed matrices.  The only sure way of making money is to share the program with others.  Details under New Programs.

I did feature one or two of the popular HYIPs on my HYIP page, but this is a very volatile area.  As I said on the Strategies page, unless you can quickly recover your seed money, without gambling or greed getting the better of you, it is best to stay away completely from such programs. Currently I have just the DRF Group listed but i hope to add others shortly.

The snag is that this is precisely the area that alot of people are attracted to, because of the high yield, but the programs are usually set up deliberately to take the most money they can from the unweary!  As soon as the admins profits tail off, they disappear!

There are lots of matrix and MLM programs out there, but unless you get in a very early position or you are a good recruiter these are best avoided.  2X2 programs are very popular with the recruiters currently and although I could do very well with these, I have tended to give them a miss as I know most of my passive subscribers would struggle with them. 

I have joined one 2X2 that is not fully launching until 1st August.  Currently it's in pre-launch and you can actually fill up cycles right now and then get paid when it launches.  Right now I am looking for leaders who can bring others in - have a look at:   www.orchard.millionairex1.com  It costs just $1 a day to be involved, not the $200 to $300 up front like some of the others!

I have updated the Reverse Pension Plan page with the latest information, but I hold out little hope of big payouts in the present financial climate.

There are also some interesting private ventures in the Members Area, although some have gone completely private, but you do need to fill in the member registation form to get into the members area.  And I shall be adding some more private programs during the next couple of months.

A successful trading program specializing in arbitrage sports betting.  The program owners do the trading for you and pay you a variable 0.7% to 1.1% Monday to Friday, or a fixed 6% every week.
